Comments¶ An attractive edition of Gray's Elegy that begins with Giuseppe Torelli's translation in parallel English and Italian texts, followed by another Italian translation by Melchoir Cesarotti and a translation into Latin by Giovanni Costas. The Cesarotti and Torelli translations, first published in 1772 and 1776 respectively, are remarkably different in style. The three translations are preceded by a dedicatory sonnet by the printer Biambatista Bodoni to Signora Contessa Elisabetta Caterina Mosconi.
