Comments

An essay on courtesy addressed by an anonymous author to his cousin, "The Hon. Henry H." who apparently had written a popular novel which received "large circulation" and many public responses, some of which may not have have been kind, to which Sir John Courteous counsels his cousin: "Be wise, be courteous." The only direct literary reference the author makes is to Dickens' Household Words.
