Comments

A comprehensive catalogue of the work of Gustav Stickley and his Craftsman Workshops, as issued by Stickley in January 1909. It includes photographs and drawings of hundreds of pieces of his famous craftsman furniture, metal and leather work, cushions and pillows, needlework and architectural renderings for Craftsman Homes. The first eleven pages explain Stickley's approach to the craft of making furniture, the "growth of our decorative scheme," the "individuality of Craftsman Furniture," his magazine "Craftsman," how to properly identify his Craftsman Furniture," and his "Guarantee to Purchasers." This appears to be the first comprehensive catalogue issued by Stickley's Craftsman Workshops; there was a shorter version of this catalogue issued in 1910. "51" written in ink in a contemporary hand in the upper margin of the front wrapper.
