An extensively annotated edition of John Evelyn's famous treatise on trees, edited by Edinburgh physician and polymath Alexander Hunter (1729-1809), with Hunter's memoir of Evelyn. Hunter's edition became the standard (and many thought the best and most reliable) one, which corrected numerous errors that had crept into the editions of 1706 and 1729.
