8vo, modern brown quarter morocco, marbled paper boards, gilt rules and lettering. Without the half-title and two leaves of advertisements.


Byron's verse version of the legendary story of Fletcher Christian, Captain Bligh and the mutiny on the HMS Bounty. The long poem (in four cantos), beginning with the knock on Bligh's cabin door and ending with the sight of the ship that returns to capture the mutineers two years later, includes numerous footnotes and is followed by a 14-page appendix that reprints Bligh's account, which Byron does not question. Bookplate on the front paste-down of Christopher Clark Geest.
