A thorough account of the Canary Islands by Daniel Jay Browne (1804-1867), a naturalist from Boston who traveled there for several months in 1833 apparently for the specific purpose of exploring all aspects of the islands and reporting his findings and impressions to a group of sponsors in Boston. Browne was an interesting polymath who wrote on a variety of subjects related to flora, fauna and science: husbandry, birds, poultry, American trees, etc.
