A finely bound copy of one of the many sales conducted by Bangs & Co. of New York, one of the prominent auction houses of the day. The hammer prices of each of the 500 lots have been neatly entered in the margins, and there are a few other annotations in pencil, e. g."The only other copy sold in recent years was Halleram's . . . in 1899"; "French copy sold for . . ."; "First copy sold here since . . . "; etc.
