A sequel to Gilbert à Beckett's Comic History of England (1846), which were both masterfully illustrated by John Leech. Together they were two of the most popular and often reprinted works of Victorian comic literature. With the exception of two variants (one outside the rear wrapper of part five and one inside the rear wrapper of parts 9/10), the advertisements, both inserted and printed, agree with those described in Abbey.
