CommentsThe first book by Irish-Anglo writer and aristocrat Lady Catherine Rebecca Manners (1766-1852), a collection of 25 poems, mostly Irish in theme, that went through at least two more editions, and for which she was lauded in the Gentleman's Magazine as "a most accomplished lady." She was also learned, which she displayed in her second work Review of Poetry. Ancient and Modern, published in 1799, a tutorial in verse on the history of poetry.
