CommentsThe only book by artist Maynard Dixon (1875-1946) published in his lifetime, a fine collaborative effort with the Grabhorn Press that combines his iconic art set in the West with his poetry about the West. The batik cloth and brown leather spine label is a latter issue binding by the Grabhorns, who were known to leave books in sheets and bind them as demand warranted - and often in a style that depended on materials at hand, which invariably differed from the earlier bindings, as is the case here.
