CommentsAnother entry in the genre of imaginary travelogues for children and young adults that attempts to inform, instruct and educate. Elizabeth Sandham, who flourished between 1799 and 1825, was a prolific author of similar didactic works, but few of them used travel as a device. in this one, two young ladies tour the sights and scenes of Brighton, but also witness "the evils attendant on an uncultivated and covetous mind" of one "mean and selfish" women traveler with whom they cross paths.
