Comments

The first English translation of Jean Haudicquer de Blancourt's De l'Art de la Verrerie, a detailed treatise on making and coloring glass, first published in French in 1697. It contains a history of glass, its manufacture, utility and instructions for making glass of all kinds, including eyeballs. Contemporary bookplate of John Wentworth of York on the front paste-down; 20th century German bookplate on the rear paste-down, next to which is the unusual small oval ink stamp that states "This Rare Collector's Item Has Been Acquired Legally / Karl J.E. Liebetrau."
