Comments

Though not as long-lived as a few of the other literary annuals (there were only four issues, 1836, ’37, ’41 & ’50), The Boston Book was nonetheless one of the most distinguished: Among the original contributions to this issue are ones by Washington Allston, O.W. Holmes, Lydia Maria Child, N.P. Willis, John Neal, H.T. Tuckerman and J.G. Whittier, et al. Ink signature of A. Farmsworth, 27 Oct. 1836, on the front free endpaper.
