CommentsSeven years ago poet Robert Nye, commenting on QUITS, Arthur Freeman’s mini-collection of poems published by The Brick Row Book Shop (2009) wrote: “I appreciate the way you seem to write poems only when you have something to say, which might not otherwise be said.” Helen Vendler said the slim volume “gave me such pleasures, poem by poem,” and Richard Wilbur remarked “I’m delighted with QUITS, though not with what the title implies, since the poems are as classy as ever.” Responding with his usual alacrity, Freeman now offers the even shorter CODICILS: TEN MORE POEMS, 2009-2016, dedicated to the memory of poet George Starbuck. Two hundred copies have been attractively printed in London, and are available in America from the Brick Row Book Shop at $15.00 plus postage.
