Comments

Poetic and prose meditations written towards the end of the life of Sir William Killigrew (bap. 1606-1695), playwright and courtier, whose career flourished almost the entire span of the 17th century. Inscribed on the front blank in a contemporary hand, quite possibly Killigrew's: "For ye Countesse of Peterborough." Bookplate of American collector Robert S. Pirie on the front paste-down.
