A scarce murder mystery by the author of Miss Ravenel’s Conversion from Secession to Loyalty. W.D. Howells commented in a review of The Wetherel Affair that it showed that De Forest was “really the only American novelist.” Penciled signatures on the front free endpaper and blanks of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. V. De Forest, relatives of the author.
