An anonymously issued collection of poetry that was published to be sold at a fair for benefit of the New England Institute for the Blind. The text is divided into three parts, the first by Park Benjamin (19 poems), followed by Oliver Wendell Holmes (17 poems) and John Osborne Sargent (17 poems). This constitutes Holmes' first substantial selection of poetry published in book form, and for Park Benjamin it is one of the most important selections of his poetry published in his lifetime (see the note at the beginning of the entry in BAL). This is also John Osborne Sargent's first substantial collection in book form. He, a cousin of Epes Sargent, went on to become a well-known journalist and miscellaneous author.
