¶ A posthumous collection of miscellaneous articles, verse, epistles, sketches, anecdotes and letters by the antiquary Francis Grose (1731-1791), including his pieces on William Oldys, John Warburton, Samuel Johnson and John Hawkins, among others. The collection begins with his 22 sketches written under the general title “The Grumbler,” 16 of which were first published in 1791.
