Comments

¶ A rare quarto poem by the notorious friend of Laurence Sterne and author of Crazy Tales (1762), a satire written in the form of eight fables in verse, and a parody on Mandeville's Fable of the Bees, all addressed to the imaginary Society of the Makaronies, which is confusingly and comically explained in the preface. Contemporary ink ownership notations on the half-title.
