Comments¶ A handsome edition of Petrarch's lyrical poems, translated by the Irish poet Henry Boyd (1750-1832), and printed by James and Cecil Johnson of the Windsor Press. They preface the text with their scholarly “Apologia” in which they make some interesting typographical insights, particularly as regards Aldus Manutius's enthusiasm for combining Roman capitals with italic lettering.
