Comments

One of the most fruitful collaborations of Dr. Beattie and the brilliant illustrator W. H. Bartlett, following the course of the Danube River through Germany, Austria, and Hungary, and into Turkey. Beattie's text is historically and topographically detailed, and Bartlett's many engraved views are compelling.
