Comments

¶ Sheridan's version of Vanbrugh's comedy of eighty years earlier about Lord Foppington, Young Fashion and Mr. Loveless - which was itself a sequel to Colley Cibber's Love's Last Shift; or, The Fool in Fashion. The prologue is by David Garrick. Bookplate of Wilfred Sheridan (a descendant?) on the front paste-down. Duplicate from the Huntington Library, with their withdrawn stamp on the rear paste down and cataloging slip laid in, which compares their three copies (one of them the Hoe copy) and notes which one to deaccession.
